About GetQA

Meet the people behind the quality.

GetQA is a managed team, not a marketplace. Every engineer who touches your product is on our payroll, vetted by us, and working the hours your team works.

For six years I was the last person to touch a release before it shipped. Three companies, three products, and the same Friday night every time.

The bugs were never in the code we argued about in review. They were on the path nobody imagined — the double-clicked button, the email address with a plus in it, the customer on hotel wifi. We found those the way everyone finds them: from a support ticket, on a Monday morning.

It took me too long to see that this wasn't a testing problem. Every team I worked with cared about quality. They cared about it in the last two hours of a sprint, somewhere between the thing they were shipping and the thing they had already promised.

Quality was everybody's job, which is a polite way of saying it was nobody's.

So in 2021 I started GetQA with one other tester and one client who had no QA at all. We were the function they didn't have. No process, no framework, nothing to sell — just two people looking for what nobody else had time to look for.

By 2023 we had stopped subcontracting entirely. Clients kept asking who exactly was in their repository, and “someone we work with” was never going to be a good enough answer. Everyone became an employee: background check, signed NDA, a manager, a review cycle.

A year later the first of us moved to Austin, because a bug found at 4pm Eastern shouldn't have to wait until the next morning for a reproduction.

Today there are four of us across two cities, and the rule hasn't moved: nobody touches a client product until they have cleared every check further down this page. You will meet the people who'll be on yours, by name, on the first call.
