For 5 years I was the last person to touch a release before it shipped. Different companies, different products, and the same Friday night every time.
The bugs were never in the code we argued about in review. They were on the path nobody imagined: the double-clicked button, the email address with a plus in it, the customer on hotel wifi. We found those the way everyone finds them: from a support ticket, on a Monday morning.
It took me too long to see that this wasn't a testing problem. Every team I worked with cared about quality. They cared about it in the last two hours of a sprint, somewhere between the thing they were shipping and the thing they had already promised.
Quality was everybody's job, which is a polite way of saying it was nobody's.
Small teams feel this hardest. At 3 to 20 engineers you are big enough to ship things that break, and too small to justify a full-time QA hire, so testing lands on whoever has the least on their plate that week.
That's the gap GetQA exists to close. I started it in 2026 to give small teams the QA function they can't hire for: a dedicated engineer who works your hours, learns your product, and treats your releases like their own. I run the function, review the work, and stay accountable for the outcome. You are not managing a contractor; you are handing off a problem.
We are a small team by design, and that is the honest pitch: you will know exactly who is testing your product, by name, from the first call. No layers, no account managers, no “someone we work with.”
